What is Armenian Paper and where does it come from ?
Armenian Paper has been manufactured in Montrouge, in the Paris region, since 1885. The little company from that era is now offering other new products, like Rose-scented Armenian Paper since 2009 or the Year of Armenia in France Armenian Paper offered since 2006. All these are used in the same way – to prevent bad odours. Its name was given to it when its French investors inventors discovered the use of benzoin in Armenia.
The virtues of Armenian Paper are that it is antiseptic, is a powerful cleaner and is anti-odour
Armenian Paper draws its cleansing and antiseptic virtues from the benzoin resin (styrax tonkinensis) of which it is made. This resin, drawn from the tree called Styrax (a tree that is native to Thailand or Laos) also has a balsamic and vanilla scent which is highly valued.
